Launch of the Upper East Side Eco-Map

Sunday, October 25th, at 11:30 a.m., join in the launch of the Upper East Side Eco-Map at the 92nd Street Greenmarket & Upper Green Side.

Council Member Daniel Garodnick – whose generous grant made printing the map possible – will be on hand to present the first copy of the Eco-Map to Gorman Reilly, the recently retired chair of Civitas. Not only was Gorman an early Upper Green Side supporter, he, via Civitas, provided funding for last year’s UGS electronic recycling event.

And what is the Eco-Map? A year and half in the making, the Eco-Map is your pocket-sized guide to the greenest of the green on the Upper East Side… Be that a green roof or solar panels, local wildlife (yes, we have some!), the nearest place to recycle a dead CFL and much, much more!

And that’s not all that will be going on Sunday! The 92nd Street Greenmarket managers will be throwing their first ever tailgate party complete with delicious treats and a broadcast of the Jets game.

So come, stock up on the market’s wonderful edibles, enjoy the game and snacks, and get your very own copy of the Eco-Map!
